It may surprise many people to find out that this car dates back to 1994. It was then that the Volkswagen group was looking to pierce through the luxury market. Using their Passat platform, they decided to upscale their popular car to create something for high-end consumers. The very first Audi A4 came off of factory lines in November of 1994.

- First Generation Audi A4 B5 (1994-2001)
The first-generation Audi A4 featured a B5 platform from the VW Passat. It came with an array of petrol and gasoline engine choices, as well as a Porsche-style Tiptronic Gearbox. The light and door handles were revised in 1997.
- Second Generation Audi A4 B6 (2001-2006)
We saw the first Fuel Stratification Injection Technology with the second-generation A4. All TDI and VDI units now came with Quattro all-wheel drive and Tiptronic transmission. There weren’t any major exterior changes.

The fifth generation saw a more integrated exterior with a flatter, Singleframe grille and a wide body for additional comfort. The contour lines were changed for a slicker side view and Matrix headlamps became optional. There are now six engine choices available.
