For the competitive drivers of the world, BMW has created a one-of-a-kind crossover that is built for pure performance.

This crossover is known as the BMW X4. The BMW X4 is a fastback version of the popular BMW X3, built with a lower, sleeker roofline and a slimmer cabin. As somewhat of a coupe hybrid, this crossover is at the forefront of true BMW style.

Defying the Conventional – A History of the BMW X4

The BMW X4 was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show back in 2014. Some of the earliest models in the lineup included the xDrive20i, xDrive35i, xDrive 20d, and xDrive 35d. It wasn’t until 2015 that the M Performance model hit the streets.

Expressive Technology and Features of the BMW X4

The 2019 BMW X4 comes with a choice between two different turbocharged engines including the four-cylinder and six-cylinder. The chassis is described as “stiff”, providing drivers with a very quick and agile drive.

Some of the top features on the BMW X4 include the launch control, adjustable suspension, and 19” wheels. It includes your standard BMW safety features such as low-speed automated emergency braking and forward-collision warning. On the inside, you get a Live Cockpit Professional, as well as a dynamic digital instrument cluster that provides you with entertainment and safety features.

A Brief Generational Timeline of the BMW X4

  • First Generation BMW X4 (2014-2018)

The first-generation BMW X4 included the standard kidney grilles and large air intakes that were present on many BMWs at the time. Each came with an eight-speed automatic transmission alongside one manual version.

  • Second Generation BMW X4 (2018-Present)

When 2018 rolled around, the car received an overall size increase, as well as new headlights, bumpers, stoplights, wheels, and a few new color choices. Three-zone climate control and active seat ventilation became available as well. Beyond that, the performance was also upgraded slightly.

BMW X4 In the News

In recent BMW news, the company just created the very first-ever X4 M platform to cross the Australian Outback. Aussie drivers can test these new, terrain-defying models at the Outback M Town Circuit.

Celebrity Endorsements of the BMW X4

Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate any celebrities that own BMW X4s. With that being said, there are plenty of celebrities who drive BMWs in general, including Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, and Clive Owen.

Best BMW X4 Groups

BMW has some of the most prominent groups and clubs of almost any manufacturer out there. Their X4 Club is one of the best places for owners and enthusiasts of BMW X4s to chat about their crossovers.

The BMW X4 – BMW’s Power Trip

The BMW X4 is such a difficult vehicle to pin down with all of its hybrid design features, but for now, we’ll just refer to it as a “Crossover”. With that said, the BMW X4 is made to outperform all other crossovers on the market. With a dynamic driving attitude, a tech-savvy interior, and a sleek, modern design that will make anyone take a second glance, it is a testament to their history of creating “ultimate driving machines”.
