Chevrolet Blazer

Though its nameplate dates back further than most of us have been around, the Chevrolet Blazer as we know it today is a completely different vehicle than it was back then.

At this point in time, the Blazer is a sleek, street-oriented crossover SUV with a mid-size design and a stylish aesthetic. When it comes to hauling your family around, it is a crossover that is definitely worth a look.

A Brief History of the Chevrolet Blazer

The Chevrolet Blazer was first introduced to the world back in 2018 at a car show in Atlanta. It was a mid-size SUV that was meant to fill the gap between the smaller Chevrolet Equinox and the larger three-row Traverse.

Technology and Innovations of the Chevrolet Blazer

The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer utilizes a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that puts out 193 horsepower, though the higher trim comes with a 3.6L V-6 engine that puts out 308 horsepower. Both of these are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, though the V-6 comes with all-wheel-drive instead of front-wheel-drive. The Blazer has a 0-50 time of 6.3 seconds, which is pretty fast for its class.

The interior looks a lot like the Chevrolet Camaro. It comes with heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats, ambient interior lighting, and an intuitive climate control system. Each Blazer comes complete with an 8.0” infotainment touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto capabilities. It can also be equipped with 4G LTE, built-in navigation, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and wireless charging.

A Single Generation of the Chevrolet Blazer (2019-Present)

The Chevrolet Blazer is still in its first generation and there have not been any major changes. The only change that Chevrolet has showcased is the switch to the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the 2020 year.

The Chevrolet Blazer In the News

In recent Chevrolet news, the company is developing a Blazer XL model for the Chinese and South American market. The Blazer XL will come with seven seats, as these markets are currently favoring longer wheelbases.

Celebrity Endorsements of the Chevrolet Blazer

The Chevrolet Blazer is still a fairly new automobile, and it isn’t the most exciting one in the world, which is likely why we haven’t been able to spot any celebrities cruising around in them. With that said, there are tons of celebrity Chevrolet owners in general, including Jay Leno, Rob Dyrdek, Brad Pitt, and Orlando Bloom.

Best Chevrolet Blazer Groups

The Chevy Blazer club is one of the largest forums and owners clubs for the 2019+ Chevy Blazers. There are only few-hundred members as of now, though it is growing every day.

The Chevrolet Blazer – The New Mid-Size Standard

The Chevrolet Blazer is a truly understated vehicle. With a distinct personality and a wide range of interior/exterior options, it is a unique take on what has been a Chevrolet classic for so long. At first glance, you might even think you are driving around a luxury vehicle. We wish the Chevrolet Blazer the best as it continues to roll through the mid-size market in years to come.
