Over the past few years, the competition for high-quality SUVs has been on the rise. Nissan finally decided to enter the game with the Nissan Kicks, providing drivers with a vehicle that is both practical and stylish. Though it may seem like just another Nissan from the outside, this may just be the vehicle that takes Nissan to meet its rivals at the top.

A Short History of the Nissan Kicks

The original concept for the Nissan Kicks came around back in 2014. The company decided that they would use the Nissan Kicks in showcases across Brazil to help promote the Summer Olympics in 2016. It was that year that Nissan was the lead sponsor for the Olympics. Luckily for them, this helped kickstart a successful production for the Kicks, which ended up replacing the Juke model in the U.S.

The Nissan Kicks – Inside and Out

The 2019 Nissan Kicks is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine that gives drivers 125 horsepower. Obviously, it is not the most thrilling ride out there, though the variable automatic transmission gives you a bit more of a hands-on feel when it comes to shifting. Beyond speed, we love how nimble the Nissan Kicks feels, especially when compared to larger SUVs.

On the inside, you get the gorgeous Nissan Connect 7.0-inch infotainment system. It is easily the most intuitive infotainment system that is on the market. Beyond that, the vehicle comes with a high-fidelity six-speaker audio system and onboard Wi-Fi for the Google addicts of the world.

A First in its Timeline – the Nissan Kicks (2018-Present)

Unfortunately, not much has changed from the 2018 model that was first released. The Kicks is currently still in its first generation. Though it was released to the US in 2018, it didn’t find the Indian market until 2019. The difference is that the Indian version is built on a Dacia B0 platform. This helps the Indian market to cut production costs overall

In recent Nissan news, the company just released a more affordable XE variant for the Indian market. See the XE in all its glory in the video below!

Celebrity Endorsements of the Nissan Kicks

We have been unable to locate any celebrity owners of the Nissan Kicks. It might be because the vehicle is still fairly new to the market, as there are many celebrities who drive other Nissans, such as Alyssa Milano, Dominick Cruz, and Robert Downey Jr.

Best Nissan Kicks Groups

Somehow, someway, the Nissan Kicks has a massive Facebook group with almost 13,000 members! It’s pretty obvious that there are some huge fans of this little SUV.

The Nissan Kicks entered the market at just the right time. Finally, Nissan can be a company that is known for their crossover. Overall, the Kicks is a ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously, allowing drivers to have fun and express themselves however they see fit. If that isn’t what driving should feel like, then we don’t know jack.
