Before the Rav 4 came around just a few decades ago, there was no real talk of “crossover vehicles”. Though the car has reinvented itself in modern times, it still shares the same attitude that it did when it first hit the market back in 1994.

A History In Adventure – The Toyota Rav 4

The Toyota Rav 4 made its Japanese and European debut back in 1994 as the first-ever crossover SUV in existence. Toyota had the idea to design a vehicle that could give consumers the benefits of SUVs alongside the maneuverability of a compact vehicle. RAV stands for “Recreational Activity Vehicle”.

Features of the Toyota Rav 4

The 2019 Toyota Rav 4 comes complete with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The crossover outputs 203 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 8.3 seconds.

The Rav 4 has always been known for its additional storage space. On the interior, we can also find a base-level 7.0” touchscreen infotainment system, a premium JBL speaker system, standard lane-keeping assist, and rear-cross traffic alert.
